Distillery : Bowmore - Islay
Sherry Casks
Original Bottling
Limited Edition
Single Malt
Bottled in 2016
Peated around 25 ppm
Easy to find at the time of its release, and even a few years later, this limited edition subsequently became quite expensive.
Let's Taste It :
They've gone all out with the sherry. It blends very nicely with a relatively light, deep, fairly intense, smoky peat. A lemon zest, gooseberry juice, some woody hints, earth, blackberries and blackcurrants. Humus, like in a forest. Fresh on the palate, with leather, dried fig, pear compote, honey, cinnamon, liquorice, nutmeg and spices. The finish is slightly acidic, with lemon coming through a bit, dry, long but a little bitter. Asparagus, I think. Dark chocolate.
In Short,
A very pleasant bottle to drink, which I personally don't regret having bought, as I got it at the release price. However, at the current price, I don't think it's worth it at all.
