Let's Taste It :
Superb balance between the American casks, which offer light white fruits, mirabelle plums, greengages, and vanilla that's not at all sweet, and the port casks, with their red fruits, wineiness, pomegranate, blackcurrant, tannins, heather earth, undergrowth, humus, lemon zest, smoke, exotic fruits, lychees, iodine, foam, sea salt, damp sand. I spent half an hour smelling the glass. Very complex palate, torn between peat and a fruity, forest intensity. Deep, interminable finish, black earth, charcoal, muscat grapes. I could still taste it twenty minutes later.
In Short,
Exquisite. The most complex nose I've ever smelt, and the rest is equal to it. A bottle to get hold of as soon as possible if you can afford it.
Score : 92
