Distillery : Glenlossie - Speyside
1st Fill Bourbon Cask
Independent Bottling
By La Maison du Whisky
Limited Edition
Single Malt
Bottled in 2021
Unchillfiltered, Uncoloured
Totally Unpeated

The 5th bottling from the 5th batch of the Artist Collective range launched in 2017 by La Maison du Whisky comes from Glenlossie. Like Benrinnes, this is a distillery with only one original bottling, the 10 YO Flora & Fauna, so every independent expression from this distillery is welcome. The label features an original artwork entitled "Zero", by an unknown artist.

Let's Taste It :
Very floral, delicate, light nose. Violet, pansies. Some fruits in the background, lemon, vanilla, banana. Iodine, but without moisture, no foam or kelp, just iodine. A fresh taste. Pleasant on the palate, with the influence of Bourbon, citrus fruits, almonds, mirabelles and greengages. Slightly earthy and country if you insist. Barely noticeable spices, cloves and ginger. The finish is fairly long, light but still shows that it's there. Sandy, barely salty, honey, eucalyptus.

In Short,
Once again an interesting discovery, from a distillery I didn't know, and which seemed to me very typical of Speyside. It's well made, and for the moment the price is reasonable, so enthusiasts can get their piggy banks out.
Score : 87
