Within the motley Old Particular range, you'll find everything, including this little Caol Ila aged for 10 years and 4 months in a single bourbon hen's head. Released at the end of 2021, it is flooding points of sale with just 305 bottles.

Let's Taste It :
I immediately smell Bourbon, vanilla, lemon pulp, genoise, candied banana, custard. But the distillery's hallmarks soon take over, iodine, foam, sea spray, thick peat, grainy smoke, quinces purée, fuel oil, sea breeze. Milky, creamy, spicy palate, oyster juice, botargo, shrimps, cumin, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla éclair. Salty peat, seawater, kelp. Long, explosive finish, charcoal, dark earth, pure cocoa, truffles. Salt crystals. Herbaceous hints. Tall grass.

In Short,
Not bad at all, to be honest. The nose is a little too Bourbon for my liking, but the Caol Ila profile is very noticeable. The mouth is a little metallic, but also creamy, very successful. The finish is sufficiently long and powerful. By looking carefully, you can find it at a reasonable price. Why not in my opinion.
Score : 87
