The A Marriage of Casks sub-range at Elixir Distillers brings together whiskies that are often very old, but not single cask. The idea is to marry the aged casks to create the most beautiful blend possible. There are few details about this bottling here. The distillery that produced the juice is unknown, we have no idea about the nature of the casks, and we don't know how many bottles were released. A total mystery.

Let's Taste It :
Soft, light, floral, woody nose. Chlorophyll sweets, green plants, it's quite herbaceous, but also greedy. Fresh spinach, ripe dates, honey and pastry cream, ginger. Pleasant palate, typical of the region's profiles, light, mellow, very well-crafted and subtle, but also lacking a little character. Sophisticated spices, apricot liqueur, macerated almonds. Milk chocolate. Buttered toasts. Very well done finish, a bit earthy but also appetising, on chocolate cake, with a mint leaf, a hint of iodine and shortbread biscuits. More almonds and vanilla.

In Short,
Very interesting, varied in flavour, original and subtle. But then, it's not really my profile, I prefer when there's more character. Fans will appreciate it, I think, it's up to them to judge whether the price is worth the quality. As far as I'm concerned, it lacks personality and punch in the finish.
Score : 88
