This is the 5th and apparently the last Batch of the Traigh Bhain 19 yo. So, now that the series is ending, it's time to wonder about its interest and its originality. Why 5 batches? Why not 4 or 6? Why the maturation is always exactly the same? And they never reveal the number of bottles produced.

Let's Taste It :
Very well-balanced lemon, with iodine. The peat is measured. The typical herbaceous touch of the distillery is very noticeable, soft, with spinach and a touch of fennel. Some white fruits to liven things up. A touch of vanilla. On the palate, a fine balance between citrus fruits, peat and tall herbs. Icing sugar, limestone. Discreet spices. The finish is just the right amount of explosive, charcoal, earth ready to be ploughed, milk chocolate, humus. Candied lemon. Green tea.

In Short,
I would have liked to taste them all one after the other, to see the differences. So far, I've only tasted 4 out of 5, and in less than ideal conditions. But what I can say is that I don't see the variations between each Batch, I don't see any coherence or evolution in this series. Only one aged Ardbeg duplicated 5 times, which is pretty good, but it should be better considering the age, and especially considering the price.
Score : 89
