Uigeadail is the lake from which the distillery draws the water needed to produce its whisky. It is the 2nd expression in the regular range since 1997, the year the distillery reopened, and one of the most typical. It is said that around 10% of the casks used are Sherry casks.

Let's Taste It :
The nose is a perfect balance of peat, sherry, smoke and iodine. You can smell the soot of a wood fire in the countryside, almost hear the logs creaking. There's also something honeyed, salty and slightly acidic, could it be a hint of candied lemon? The dried fruits of the sherry bring it all together in an absolutely bewitching way. On the palate, the sherry mixes with liquorice, bark and salted caramel, and it's as if the peat is rising, exploding in a peppery, very long and oily finish. The salted caramel stays on the tongue for a very long time. Then it evolves, leaving a more peaty, smoky shadow on the palate, with a few notes of cola.

In Short,
This is a masterpiece, at an extremely charitable price. A perfect marriage of violent peat and very expressive sherry. A must-have for any enthusiast.
Score : 90
