The illustrious trading company is now bringing us this tempting 17-year-old Laphroaig in Single Cask and cask strength, produced in an edition of 318 copies.

Let's Taste It :
A rich and heady nose, very fruity, with pineapple, passion fruit, gooseberries, mango and candied lemon. The ashy peat typical of Laphroaig gives it fullness. It goes very well with tar and dust, gravel and fuel oil. A touch of sweetness, even pastry-like, gênoise, meringue. A hint of liquorice. On the palate, strawberry syrup, rosewater, spices, barley sugar, milk chocolate, brown sugar, floral notes, icing sugar. A dash of mint. Caramel finish, returning liquorice, pastry cream, chocolate powder. Charcoal.

In Short,
It's very good, with a focus on exotic fruits and a very ashy smoke. Having said that, I'm a bit disappointed, given the reputation of this collection and the age of the thing, I was expecting a killer. I guess that's not always the case. The price is obviously extravagant.
Score : 88
