Launched in Travel Retail to replace Triple Wood, which is now part of the Core Range, this edition, available only in one-litre bottles, has been finished exclusively in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks..

Let's Taste It :
A lovely smoky and spicy sherry. The Pedro Ximenéz is clearly recognisable, with fresh leather, yellow plums, dried apricots and quince marmalade. But all this is surrounded by a dense and flavoursome peat, bewitching, almost suffocating. Exceptionally powerful, and enhanced by morello cherries. Blackberry jam, fruit jelly, macaroons, fig fondant. Very sweet on the palate, light grenadine, then the spices rise, cloves, pepper, nutmeg, as well as coal, gas oil, motor oil. Some plum juice behind. Very earthy and woody finish, cola, a hint of liquorice, long enough.

In Short,
I couldn't agree more. This version is smokier than the Triple Wood, but also fruitier. Less balanced but more powerful. Of the two, I prefer the PX Cask. The price is very reasonable, so jump on the opportunity.
Score : 88
