Glenlossie is an unfairly overlooked distillery near Mannochmore in northern Speyside. It has been owned by Diageo for over a hundred years, and it seems that most of the production is used in blends, the only Single Malt in Original Bottling being a 10-year-old from the Flora & Fauna series and a very rare Manager's Dram. That's why its independent bottlings are so sought-after. Here we have a reduced 12 year old with a simple aging that will enhance the distillate. The number of bottles offered for sale is not known.

Let's Taste It :
Lovely lemony mellowness, a drizzle of citrus fruits on a layer of vanilla. Grapefruit, clementine, blood orange. Crème brûlée, liquid honey, lemonade. A pinch of salt. Dry earth, prolific garden, apples, pears, but also a few vegetables, zucchini, eggplants. The palate is interesting, pleasant, very round, spicy of course, with cumin, paprika and chives. On the exotic fruit, papaya or mango, but it remains light. Quite a long finish, with heather, cola, chocolate and puffed rice.

In Short,
A beautiful little Speyside. Citrus-focused, but with an earthy character and vegetables in the background that I enjoyed. Well done overall. I'd be grateful if the price wasn't a bit excessive, it's still middle-aged, don't forget.
Note : 87
