Since the Singh brothers launched Elements of Islay in 2008, there have been, of course, numerous Bowmore bottlings. This is the 7th, it is a blend of 4 Sherry casks which matured 16 years before being launched on the market in 2017. The number of bottles is not specified but it must be close to 1500.

Let's Taste It :
Sweet and creamy sherry. Thick, black smoke. Intense iodine. Chestnut cream and charcoal. Slightly earthy peat. Tide and sea spray. Black tea. A pinch of cinnamon. Ginger. Brown sugar. On the palate, woody and oily, tinder, cardamom, paprika, rather strong spices. Liquorice stick, fresh figs. Hints of chocolate and chicory. The finish is less strong than I expected, but very long. Bowl of milk chocolate, heather, wallflower. Pine needles. Pistachio Loukoum.

In Short,
It is an excellent bottling, both greedy and deep, subtle and powerful, where the peat blends beautifully with the Sherry. That said, I was expecting a little more, it lacks fullness, the Sherry is perhaps a little too much on the dried fruits and not enough on the red fruits. In the end, it's still very pleasant to drink, and the price at which it can still be found today is almost acceptable. Passionate lovers may consider buying it.
Score : 89
