Every year now, we are entitled to an edition of the 16 Year Old. This one is the third, with slightly more Sherry casks. 7,000 bottles have been released.

Let's Taste It :
Warm and mellow brioche, vanilla yoghurt, very light peat, spices. Cinnamon, baked apple, candied lemon, with a trail of hay, dry earth. Mountain honey, quite solid. Very soft minerality, silica, quartz. On the palate, it's mellower, fruitier, juicy white plums, banana, some discreet exotic fruits, guava, sand and salt, white pepper. The finish is long and beautiful, very successful, very fine charcoal, with warm chestnuts and a few peanuts. Loose cereals.

In Short,
Even with 30% of the casks, the Sherry remains hardly remarkable. The nose and finish are really pleasant though, but I found the palate a little below par. Like the previous year's, it's good, but you'd expect better from a 16-year-old. The price is a tad high.
Score : 88
