This independent bottling is produced by one of the most prestigious blenders on the market, at a very reasonable price. It is a blend of three unreduced sherry casks.

Let's Taste It :
It's the Caol Ila nose, refined by a few drops of rather dry sherry. A gentle breeze on a beach at low tide. Coarse salt, seaweed, oysters. Fine ash, tobacco, thick but not imposing peat. White fruits, hazelnut, dried raisin, vanilla, honey. Excellent balance. You never get tired of it. On the palate, peat, vanilla, pear, dried fruits, white pepper. The finish is magnificent, explosive and perfectly mastered, like crunching a clove but it calms down just when it was about to become unpleasant, with something sweet, caramel, cherry, aniseed, spices. It's very long and syrupy, and the subtlety outweighs the power. You can't feel the 60° at all.

In Short,
It's magnificent, the sherry isn't at all overpowering and doesn't hide the distillery's hallmarks, which are expressed here with intensity. Definitely worth buying if you can find it.
Score : 90
