It seems that Traigh Bhan is now intended to return every year, with a new batch. Traigh Bhan is a beach on the island of Islay, also known as the 'Singing Sands', because the sand is said to whistle under the feet of those who walk on it.
Let's Taste It :
Very syrupy nose, with candied lemon and pastry cream. Lemon tart, chantilly, icing sugar. Peat and smoke are very discreet but constant. Peppermint, eucalyptus, fresh iodine. The palate is very soft and delicate, with rosewater and varnished wood, green tea and a few vegetal touches. Then the spices rise slowly and take over, nutmeg, ginger, saffron, curry, before exploding on the finish, which is long, pleasant but not so violent, with hints of fine sand and dry earth. Lemon zest, citrus fruits, grapefruit.
In Short,
Once again it's very good, you can feel the influence of the American casks, it's very pleasing, the sherry casks are discreet but give body and thickness. And once again, it's very expensive, even though the frenzy has died down a little for this Batch 3. You might want to try a purchase if you won the lottery the day before.
