Apparently, Elixir Distillers owns a lot of casks from Clynelish distilled in 2010. But this one is the only one which lasted until 2023, for the moment. Aged during 12 years, 8 months and 2 weeks in a single Bourbon Barrel, it was divided in only 138 bottles. Actually, it is sold exclusively at La Maison du Whisky in Paris, but maybe some other stores will release it in the future.

Let's Taste It :
Superb, crystal-clear nose, full of salt, iodine and sea spray, with hints of vanilla and exotic fruits, pineapple, guava and passion fruit. White fruits too, plums and mirabelles. Beeswax, parquet wax, wood glue. Varnished beams. Liquid honey. Lemon zest. The palate is a bit disappointing after such a magnificent nose, more on wood and lemon, less wax and iodine. The spices are significant, cumin, pepper and nutmeg. The finish is also very beautiful, long and powerful, with a touch of clove that sizzles on the lips. Chestnut, dried banana, dates.

In Short,
Great nose, wonderful finish, but the palate is just good, and nothing more, which is a shame. It's almost an outstanding whisky. For the moment, the price is manageable, you can let yourself be tempted, but for my part, I'm not sure, it should have been more expressive on the palate.
Score : 89
