The Triskele logo is a typical symbol of Celtic culture, and it adorns all Kilchoman bottles, as a symbol of the unity of the three elements (barley, yeast and water?). To mark Feis Ile, the music and whisky festival held on the island of Islay, the distillery is launching this series, Triskele Casks, a whisky aged in Small Batches of three different types of cask, which are intended to form a beautiful unity. The first two expressions are reserved for the French market, and more specifically for La Maison du Whisky. For this one, the three casks selected are Bourbon, Port and Sherry Oloroso. 1260 bottles are produced.

Let's Taste It :
Strong and jammy nose, tannins, plums, particularly juicy mirabelles. Quinces, rhubarb, apricots, lovely grainy and mineral smoke. The whole is beautifully balanced. Quartz, slate. Complex on the palate, a cascade of fruits on a thick layer of peat. Blackcurrants, cranberries, gooseberries, but also orchard fruits, Granny Smith apples and ripe Comices pears. Various spices, nutmeg and cumin. The finish is long and beautiful, with dried fruits, dates, raisins and candied fruits. A touch of humus at the end. Charcoal.

In Short,
It's excellent, fruity as it should be, but it doesn't hide the peat, which is always present in the background. This is a very fine bottling, of which I would have liked to know the true age. The price is still high for a reduced NAS, even though it's a lovely piece of work.
